ieHIP® Digital Signage to centerpiece in top resort

Cebu City, Philippines ­ A5TEK’s affiliate in the Philippines, A5TRX Corp, recently announced the forthcoming deployment of its ieHIP® Digital Signage in Shangri-La's Mactan Resort & Spa. Mactan Shangri-la is one of Asia’s top resorts and is a multi-awarded five-star resort facility in its class along with its sister hotels spread across Asia.

Shangri-La's Mactan Resort & Spa is located in Mactan Island Cebu in southern Philippines which is also home to many world-distinguished hotel-cum-resorts for its white sand beaches, marine sanctuaries and wildlife attractions.

“We are very honored to have been chosen by Shangri-la to meet their very discriminating requirements for this project.” according to A5TRX President Francis Dy. The Shangri-la deployment includes five digital signage client PCs using A5TEK’s proprietary digital signage software ­ ieHIP® Digital Signage to be stationed along with Shangri-la’s large-size LCD TVs in major guest points of the hotel.

An ieHIP® Digital Signage Server will also be stationed at the communications department of the hotel to manage in-hotel information and promotions. A5TEK President Ted Lee welcomed the forthcoming deployment as another milestone for the company’s breadth and scale of its digital signage application to a range of industries. “We have always recognized that not all industries are created equal. Retail and hotel services sectors, for example, vary in their approach to motivate customers. That’s why at the outset of our R and D, we made sure that our digital signage solution can scale up to the most peculiar of requirements from our customers.” said Lee.

The planned digital signage installations in Shangri-la Mactan will display hotel videos, latest gourmet offerings, events, new services as well as real-time forex and weather information. As a web-based or IP-based digital signage solution, Internet feeds such as RSS and IPTV and can also be displayed or the hotel may choose to display TV since ieHIP® Digital Signage is also TV and DTV-ready.

A5TRX also provided training to the hotel staff on using the different features of the software and to fully maximize its capability to transform their digital signage displays as “information hubs ” wherever their customers go according to Dy. Dy also emphasized “We go beyond just delivery of a good digital signage solution. We make sure that customers feel that we are with them every step of the way to ensure a successful deployment.”

Previously, A5TRX also deployed several digital signages in a famous mall in Cebu using A5TEK’s ieHIP® Digital Signage product suites.

Another forthcoming digital signage installation of A5TRX will be in major public spaces in Cebu such as waiting lounges in airport and boat terminals. Point-of-sale digital signages are also foreseen in the coming months in other mall chains in the northern part of the Philippines.
