Color Management Solutions Come in a Flash at SGIA Workshop - Learn how to integrate superb color management in workflow
Fairfax, Virginia — Attendees for SGIA’s approaching workshop, Color Management for Specialty Imaging (August 67, 2007), will leave the course with more than hands-on training for color management tools and software.
They’ll take away knowledge and skills they can apply immediately to improve a company’s color output and overall productivity.
“Many attendees come to this workshop with little experience in color management, and they emerge with the know-how to achieve precise, high-quality color in a production environment,” said Johnny Shell, SGIA’s Vice President of Technical Services.
For example, Debi Alderman said her workplace, Fontaine Maury (Thomasville, Georgia), had limited color management practices in place to consistently verify and match colors.
But after attending SGIA’s most recent and sold-out color management workshop in May, Production Manager Alderman said she plans to upgrade the company’s color management system.
“I learned a lot about the profiling software and equipment that are out there. It helped me determine the specific issues we needed to keep in mind,” she said.
Students at the color management workshop explore the whole concept of color for digital imaging at SGIA’s Digital Lab under the guidance of SGIA Digital Printing Specialist Jeff Burton.
They also learn about color management terms and lingo and spend time on managing an ICC profile in a RIP environment, profiling inkjet devices and handling customers’ color expectations.
