Extended Capacity Ink Delivery System

The FP-740 comes equipped with a redesigned extended capacity ink delivery system that optimizes ink usage and allows replacement of cartridges without the need to pause the printer. With a total of eight ink cartridges feeding 16 intermediate reservoirs, the FP-740 accommodates more than 3520 ml of usable ink for increased productivity and unattended production printing.

Automated Intelligent Maintenance System

The FP-740 features an Automated Intelligent Maintenance System that automatically performs routine maintenance, eliminating many time-consuming manual maintenance tasks. This unique system actively monitors the printer and adjusts maintenance intervals accordingly. As a result, manual cleaning around the head and capping station is recommended just once every two weeks. In addition, the FP-740 can be left unattended for extended periods of time without drying ink or clogging print heads.

Automated Media Take-Up System

The FP-740 includes an automated front-mounted media take-up system to facilitate precision printing even when unattended. This sensor-guided take-up system adjusts automatically to eliminate excess slack in the media.

The FP-740 comes with VersaWorks professional RIP software, developed exclusively by Roland for the company’s wide-format inkjet printers and printer/cutters. VersaWorks is uniquely designed to both maximize the FP-740’s performance and meet the demands of exhibit builders, textile decorators and sign making professionals. In addition, VersaWorks features an efficient graphical user interface, advanced color management tools and a wide variety of convenient layout, edit and print functions such as nesting, tiling and auto/manual-layout. VersaWorks also allows users to easily import files from their favorite design application without a lengthy learning curve.

VersaWorks offers the ability to preview jobs on screen, keeping ink and media usage to a minimum.
