New Roland Vinyl Cutters Feature Optical Eye and Enhanced Versatility
LAKE FOREST, CA - Roland Advanced Solutions Division (ASD), manufacturer of the world’s best-selling vinyl cutters, today introduced the GX Pro series. The professional-grade cutters feature new design software and an optical registration system for cutting pre-printed graphics.
“In addition to Roland’s legendary reliability, the GX Pro offers enhanced versatility and ease of use,” said Neil Zdunkawicz, Roland ASD marketing manager. “Vehicle graphics, window tint, signage, stencils and even pinstriping come out looking crisp and clean. Plus, the ability to contour cut pre-printed graphics lets you create professional vehicle wraps and even heat transfers for garments.
The GX Pro series uses a digital servomotor to achieve maximum accuracy and cutting speeds up to 33 inches per second. The professional-grade cutters have a blade pressure with up to 350 grams of down force and can use several blade types to cut a wide range of material. They also include an optical registration system, making it fast and easy to contour cut full color pre-printed graphics. “The ability to mate an existing printer with the GX Pro gives our customers a powerful and cost-effective print/cut solution,” said Zdunkawicz.
GX Pro vinyl cutters include Roland CutStudio design software. CutStudio lets designers quickly and easily enlarge, reduce, re-position, rotate and mirror images. BMP, JPG, STX, AI, and EPS file formats are all supported.
The GX Pro series works with all professional sign making software. In addition to a Windows printer driver, Roland bundles plug-ins for Adobe® Illustrator® 9/10/CS/CS2, CorelDRAW® 10/11/12 for Windows, and Adobe® Illustrator® 9/10/CS for Mac. The result is a seamless, user-friendly operating environment.
