ExpoStar, Prezenta Unite as EXPOGO! - North Carolina based company introduces new name to streamline business processes and brand corporate identity
WILMINGTON, NC - ExpoStar Displays and Graphics, Inc. of Wilmington, NC, one of the nation’s leading manufacturers of portable tradeshow displays and presentation products, opened 2006 by bringing its companies and product groups together under one flagship company name: EXPOGO!
EXPOGO (pronounced ex-PO-go) will provide an umbrella organization for all ExpoStar’s products and services, including ExpoStar Displays, Prezenta Presentation Products and ArchiForm Sign Systems, said company founder and president Tom Carter.
“This will allow the company to streamline its marketing and brand our corporate identity,” Carter said, “while providing our customers with one firm to turn to for their various presentation and exhibit needs.”
“From the beginning, we have always focused on developing new products and new ways of doing things in the presentation industry,” Carter said. The result has been nearly 20 years of providing many different ways for companies and organizations to put their best foot forward, whether in a simple sales presentation or a full-blown tradeshow display.
Since the company’s founding in 1988, ExpoStar, along with its sister company Prezenta, has created many now-familiar aspects of the presentation and exhibit landscape. Together, the companies hold more than nine patents and twenty-one trademarks on such innovations as the Palladian® arch-top display, the Monticello® rollable column, the Smartpak® graphics case, and the ShowStyle® and ShowMax® self-packing displays. Most recently developed has been the ArchiForm modular sign system; an elegant, injection-molded freestanding sign that can take many forms and is weather-resistant.
“We try to find new ways to do the ordinary things that are done in the presentation market;” Carter said, “things that will make an already tough job a little easier on busy professionals who have more on their minds than whether or not their support materials will work as expected.”
The development of the ShowMax self-packing tabletop display in the mid 90’s was just one of those ideas. “It came out as the only such product on the market,” Carter said, “and people loved it.”
But it was that kind of success that called for the creation of multiple marketing entities within ExpoStar, since many products were targeted at disparate, often competing markets. At the same time, the name ExpoStar was increasingly identified with their initial portable panel displays, a strong component of their product line, and thus it became increasingly difficult to use as the name of the entire design and manufacturing company.
“We needed to speak with one voice,” Carter said. “Not just for us, but particularly for our dealers and customers.”
“We have hundreds of dealers across the country, most of which do not carry all our products, but who all need and deserve the benefit of all our resources,” he said.
“EXPOGO allows us to streamline how we deliver everything to our end-user,” Carter said, “from marketing to shipping. It also allows us to combine many things we do internally. There are parallel accounting, sales and shipping procedures that can be effectively merged which will help keep costs down, quality high and prices competitive.”
The company recently moved into its new headquarters and manufacturing facility, a 40,000 square-foot building, which provides better access to its shippers and more room to develop new products.
“Our focus will continue to be on bringing innovative, effective and user-friendly presentation products to market on a regular basis, just as we always have,” Carter said.
As if to punctuate that point, EXPOGO is releasing three new products in the second quarter of 2006, including the six-foot folding TranZibit™ tradeshow table, complete with table skirt, storage compartment, recesses on the top for graphics and wheels so it can double as a dolly.
