SGIA Expo 2012 - Las Vegas October 18-20, 2012

PRESS RELEASE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
March 20, 2006

For Digital Imaging Profits, Go Beyond Plug & Play, SGIA Imaging Symposiums Explore Productivity, Efficiency and Profitability

Fairfax, Virginia - With the 2006 SGIA Imaging Symposiums, the Association will stress the roles the complexities of digital imaging technologies play in profitability. The year's symposiums will meet in Vancouver (April 24-25), Toronto (April 26-27), Chicago (May 22-23) and Providence, Rhode Island (May 24-25).

FOUR CITIES, FOUR CHANCES TO ATTEND
The symposium series is designed to provide printers the information they need to make the best decisions for their companies.

"Our 2005 symposiums proved this type of educational forum fills an important gap for printers," said SGIA Vice President, New Markets & Technologies, Dan Marx. Agenda topics include "Achieving Quality Color in Wide Format," "Color Management Strategies for the Real World," "Ink & Media Products: Compatibility & Expectations," "Print to Product: Print Finishing Strategies," and "Overcoming Challenges to Profitability."

PLUG & PLAY DOESN'T WORK LIKE THAT
The four SGIA Imaging Symposiums are regional forums that will immerse printers in expert educational sessions and networking. The goal is to deliver a new understanding of how to deliver excellent work on time, within budget and at an acceptable profit.

"There's a misconception that you can 'plug, play and profit' from digital imaging equipment. In truth, several processes -- color management, finishing and business strategy, for example -- play equally important roles," said Marx. "Each symposium will cover essentials for excellence, including achieving acceptable color, understanding advantages and limitations of inkjet ink and media products, moving from print to product and managing the challenges of digital imaging."

Meals and networking are included in the registration fee, and each symposium begins with a welcome dinner and reception on the first night. Registration and details are online at SGIA.org.

SGIA — SUPPORTING THE LEADERS OF THE DIGITAL & SCREEN PRINTING COMMUNITY
"Specialty imaging" comprises digital imaging, screen printing and the many other imaging technologies SGIA members use, including those they'll tap in the future. These are the imaging processes and technologies employed to create new products and to enhance existing products including point-of-purchase displays, signs, advertisements, garments, containers, and vehicles. To make the most of your specialty imaging business, take full advantage of the information on SGIA.org, and experience the specialty graphic imaging industry first-hand at SGIA '06 (Las Vegas Convention Center, September 26-29, 2006).
