HP’s Scitex Vision XLjet Premium Helps Big Image Graphics Find Big Opportunities
PALO ALTO, CA - HP today announced that Big Image Graphics, a Richmond, Va.-based printer of billboards, wall murals, banners and theatrical backdrops, has installed a Scitex Vision XLjet Premium printer. The HP Scitex solution gives Big Image the ability to address new, rapidly growing profit centers and increase its competitive advantage in outdoor signage and specialty markets.
“We’ve seen growth in our specialty markets backlits and banners and our new 16.4 ft Scitex Vision XLjet Premium has the power and versatility to address those areas and still support our billboard-printing business,” said Billy Johnston, president and CEO of Big Image Graphics. “It is opening up new opportunities while making Big Image Graphics more competitive.
”In the production of double-sided banners and backlit graphics, front-to-back registration is essential. The Scitex Vision XLjet Premium features an adjustable infrared drying system that eliminates media stretching and ensures accurate registration.
“Companies like Big Image Graphics are creating new profit centers through the high quality color reproduction and flexibility of the Scitex Vision XLjet Premium,” said Dov Ofer, vice president and general manager, Inkjet Industrial Division, HP. “Now, following HP’s acquisition of Scitex Vision, print service providers producing super wide format graphics have the backing of a world print technology leader that offers solutions for everything from postcards to billboards.
”The Scitex Vision XLjet Premium offers super sharpness and clarity, easy switching between four, six and eight colors, perfect registration, vibrant, life-like color and total flexibility to print any application, regardless of size, format or media.
Available in 7.2 ft, 10.5 ft, or 16.4 ft models, the Scitex Vision XLjet Premium prints at a fast 646 square feet per hour at a resolution of 370 x 740 dpi. The drop-on-demand piezoelectric printer also has several innovative features, such as the ability to load a file while printing, multi-roll handling, and HP Scitex Supertext technology for clarity even on small, fine text.
